About the Journal
Focus and Scope
This journal serves as a communication channel for academic production, addressing the diverse issues discussed within the academic community and linked to the areas of urban planning project management, landscape architecture, environmental legislation, urban law; architectural, urban, and landscape heritage; planning of the built environment, territory, and environment; urban law and regulation; mobility and accessibility of the built environment; and object, product, and space design—in short, topics related to the transformations of urban space and landscape. It promotes an integrative approach between technical knowledge, professional practice, and the academic sector.
Articles must align with the research lines that support the Master’s Program in Architecture and Urbanism.
1. Built Environment and Sustainability
Description: Study of the importance of the rational use of resources in the built environment, highlighting its relevance to sustainable urban development. Research focuses on the production and management of the contemporary built environment. In this sense, it proposes a critical reflection on the knowledge arising from the theory and practice of Architecture and Urbanism design, with emphasis on contemporary issues that influence the conception of building and city design in light of emerging challenges. This is achieved through the analysis and evaluation of aspects related to environmental, cultural, technological, behavioral, legal, and social factors affecting human settlements.
2. Territorial and Local Development
Description: Study of aspects related to territorial development and the urban network of the Brazilian Midwest, providing support for the formulation of public policies. In the context of local development, it proposes the investigation of the urban/metropolitan phenomenon from the perspective of urbanism and urban-regional planning, in order to understand the spatial and socio-environmental characteristics of urban-metropolitan expansion; the conditions, patterns of occupation, and use of natural resources (water, vegetation cover, energy consumption); precarious settlements located in permanent preservation areas; the spatial conditions of urban mobility; the right to the city and public governance; the urban landscape and systems of urban open spaces; and access to infrastructure and environmental sanitation. This journal offers a new space for research publications and dialogue among researchers, providing a transdisciplinary platform for understanding the city.
